There’s just no getting my feet warm in the winter. I wear socks or slippers all the time. Sitting on the couch under a quilt, I find myself trying to tuck the quilt under my feet so absolutely no cold air slips through. It never works.
Jenna from craft.sew.design shares a cure for cold winter feet. She created a rice-filled foot warmer. It sits on the floor, with a big pocket for you to slip your feet into. Heat it up in the microwave for a few minutes, and it’ll keep your feet all warm and toasty. The Minky she uses for the lining is surely soft and warm, but it’s not safe for the microwave. I’d suggest using all cottons for this project. Or, if you really want that soft Minky (because who wouldn’t?), maybe adapt the pattern so there’s a removable insert? Then you could heat just the insert and put it into the cover after it’s been microwaved.
