Jen from Eat. Sleep. Make. is over at The Sewing Rabbit showing how to make some rice filled hand warmers. She used her brand spankin’ new serger to quickly sew and finish the seams. If you don’t have a serger, you can also make these on your sewing machine and just zig zag the seam allowance. They’d be just the thing for a cold winter morning! Or, how about a teacher gift? The hand warmers would be much appreciated when they have to stand outside school on cold mornings. You can make them from fabric in your scrap bin or, if you want be fancy, a charm pack from your favorite quilting cotton line. Go to The Sewing Rabbit for the tutorial.
