Sometimes it’s okay to care only about appearances. Like when you’re making a pair of pants and you want the look of a zipper fly, but there’s really no need for one. Instead of spending the time to make a functional – but unnecessary – zipper fly, you can make a mock fly (or faux fly). It has the topstitching and the layering like a functional fly, but there’s no zipper installed. Melissa from Blank Slate Patterns and Melly Sews shows how to make one. Go to Melly Sews for the tute.
