In theory, a button and buttonhole is a simple closure. Just a hole in the fabric and button to pass through, right? But it’s never that simple. You have to get them sized right, and covered evenly with stitches, and aligned and spaced correctly on the project. But don’t fear the buttonhole. Melissa from Blank Slate Patterns and Melly Sews shares some tips for making pretty buttonholes, including information how to use the buttonhole attachments that are made for older sewing machines. Her tutorial is part of her sew-along showing how to make her Berkshire Blazer. Go to Melly Sews to read them.
