Sewing Pattern: T-shirt tunic with side seam zippers

November 5, 2014 by Anne Weaver

Tutorial: T-shirt tunic with side seam zippers

Tutorial: T-shirt tunic with side seam zippers

Cathy from Trinkets in Bloom shows how she created this skull t-shirt tunic with side seam zippers.  The skull is easily added with an iron-on applique, and the zippers are inserted at the bottom of the side seams.  (Metal zippers will look best for this project.)  The skull is added to the back of the tunic and is the same color as the fabric so it’s a more subtle detail.  She adds the skull iron-on and side zippers to a t-shirt tunic that she has purchased, but you could also give this treatment to a tunic that you make from scratch.

Easy Cosmetics Bag Sewing Pattern

The bag is simple, uses very little fabric (about 2/3rds of a fat quarter), has no fussy inside pockets (although you can add your own if you like), and takes me well less than 30 minutes to print the pattern, cut out and sew. But quick and simple doesn’t mean it’s not awesome!

It’s the sort of bag that is versatile enough to be used for lots of applications, not just cosmetics and toiletries. Keep all your pens and pencils in order, use it for a small first aid kit for the car, keep it in your desk at work for a few headache pills and other personal supplies.

Make some for yourself, for gifts or to sell.
