Tutorial: Toddler bubble dresses from outgrown onesies

In the spirit of waste not, want not, Wen from What’s Mummy Up To? used her toddler daughter’s outgrown onesies to make bubble dresses. She shares a tutorial showing how she did it.  The top of the onesie will become the bodice of the dress, and gathered yardage makes the bubble skirt.  It’s an easy project that even a beginner can do.  For the tutorial, go to What’s Mummy Up To?

Sewing your own baby clothes is very satisfying. It’s one of the precious times when we as parents get to choose what our children wear without complaint. Dressing your baby in unique handmade clothing makes for wonderful photos and keepsakes too. As children get older they can select their own fabrics and become part of the sewing process.

What a great idea. I am going to try this for a little older child using a T shirt.
