In her Trompe L’WOW dress, Melissa from EcoArmoire uses a trompe l’œil effect to add retro cute details to a plain dress. She shares a tutorial on The Sewing Rabbit showing how she did it. She uses a fabric marker to give it a Peter Pan collar and bow belt. And though there are very cute patch pockets drawn to the front of the skirt, there are also actual functional in seam pockets as well. That’s like a double pocket fake out! She uses the Stepford Dress, available as an exclusive pattern for the Sewing Rabbit Pattern Member bundle for May, but you use any basic dress pattern. Go to The Sewing Rabbit to get her tute.
