Trying to put a smooth hem on a curved edge can be difficult. A standard double fold hem rarely works, as a curved piece is longer at the edge than at the stitch line. Lisa Mabey from Mabey She Made It shows her trick for getting a perfect hem on a curved edges. Instead of trying to double turn the edges (and creating a buckled mess in the process), she uses a narrow facing to get a smooth curved edge. She shows how she creates the facing piece and how she uses it to finish the curved edge. Go to her tutorial.
