This vintage pattern shows how you can make a comb holder and matching cosmetic case. It was originally published in a 1954 Workbasket Magazine, but you can download it for free at the Pattern Patter blog. The pattern comes courtesy of Mary Beth from RetroMonkeys. You can make it from felt, as the vintage project sheet recommends, or go more modern with a vinyl or laminated cotton. You could also fuse together two cottons to create a double-sided fabric that won’t fray. The comb holder looks like it might also work as a reading glasses sleeve, though I don’t have a pair of reading glasses so I can’t measure to be sure. You could certainly adjust the dimensions to fit your glasses.
