Some of my most often used sewing tools are my pattern weights. I use them instead of pins to hold my pattern in place while I cut it out. Really, any object that has substantial weight to it can be used as a pattern weight. Sarah from Blue Susan Makes guest blogs at The Sewing Loft with a tutorial showing how you can make a set of yarn wrapped pattern weights that are pretty in addition to being functional. A set of these colorful, fanciful weights would make a nice gift for a sewing friend, or a happy addition to your own sewing box. Go to The Sewing Loft for the tute.
