Easing in a sleeve cap us one of my least favorite sewing steps. It seems that no matter how hard I try, I always end with at least one pucker, and it always manages to be in a conspicuous place. Preethi from WIDI shares a video showing how to use the crimping method to ease in a sleeve cap. It creates a smoother stitch line than gathering, which makes it less likely that you’ll end up with those annoying pleats and puckers. I’d never seen this technique before, but after watching her video I’ll be using this method the next time I ease in a sleeve cap.
