What to say when someone asks you to sew for them
When people know you can sew, you’ll often get requests for hemming, making blankets, that cool project they saw on Pinterest. Sometimes it’s something you’re willing to do, but sometimes… not. But you’re on the spot and you don’t know how to turn them down. Melissa from Blank Slate Patterns has some help for you. She has posted with 11 responses you can give when someone asks you to sew for them. I have one more to add to her list. When someone asks me to hem their pants, I tell them I have a tendency to make them too short. (Which is true, actually.) I’ve never had anyone press me further after that. Nobody wants highwaters!!
