Free pattern: Hanging shoe organizer

Mary Beth from RetroMonkeys shares a free pattern at the Pattern Patter blog for making this hanging shoe organizer.  The fabric organizer fits over a clothes hanger and has 16 pleated pockets to hold your shoes.  You don’t have to store just shoes in it, either.  I have a friend who uses one of these to sort her smallest fabric scraps and store her most-used sewing notions.  With pockets made from a clear vinyl, you could easily see the contents.  This pattern was originally published in a 1952 Workbasket Magazine.  Follow the link below to get the pattern:

Love it! I used an organizer like this when I was teaching 2nd grade – kept marker, etc in it.

I love shoe bags I hang one with clear vinyl pockets on the inside of my coat closet door to store gloves, scarves, hats, even the dog leash and flashlight go into pockets.

I also have one on the back of my craft/office/storage room door and the bathroom door too.

Thanks for featuring this free pattern. I think I’ll use it to make a storage hanger for my nephew who will be moving into his dorm soon. Put some spare supplies and snacks in the bag. I just love patterns for storage organizers! Especially when they’re free

I so need this, I don’t know how it happens but my shoes always seem to end up in different rooms, the left one under the bed and the right one by the back door…no kidding!

This is a fabulous pattern for both young and old alike! I think my grandchildren will each get a bag for xmas for their rooms.
