Cathy from Brambles & Blossoms shares a free pattern at Magic Onions for making the sweetest Waldorf style pocket dolls. The small fabric dolls are easy for small hands to hold and cuddle.  She leaves the faces off to encourage more open ended play, but you could stitch or paint on one if you prefer.
