Have you seen a pressert foot with a spiral-y thing on it? Chances are, it’s a binding foot. The metal spiral is used to guide a strip of bias tape around the edge of your main fabric. Once you get the hang of using one, they make binding edges a breeze. Steph from Three Hours Past shares a video tutorial showing how to use one. Go to her video.

What a great video tutorial! There are so many fun presser feet out there so it was nice to see this one being used. I create little girls dresses & matching doll dresses using bias tape. The bias tape is sewn around the arm holes for shoulder ties. Unfortunately, it looks like this foot is better for straight stitching or slightly curved sewing. BUMMER! I was hoping to find a cool new tool to cut my sewing time down. 🙂
Keep those tutes coming! Love it!
