8 signs your sewing machine hates you, plus how to fix them

Most of the time, my sewing machine is my bestest friend.  But there are days when I swear she is out to get me!  I’m not alone.  Melissa from Blank Slate Patterns and Melly Sews shares a list of 8 signs that your sewing hates you.  Thread jams, skipped stitches, broken needles, etc.  But it’s not to make you paranoid, she also gives easy fixes for all of them.  So if your machine has turned into a petty diva, give Melissa’s post a read to get your sewing machine back to its normal reliable self.

I often think mine are possessed. Once a year or so tune-ups help too.

I know my machine is possessed! She gives me problems around deadline time and once I am done with the quilt, she behaves herself! (Lol)

I take mine in and it comes back with same issue. Never does it for them. It is a 403 front load bobbin and the case keeps coming lose and out.

Easy Cosmetics Bag Sewing Pattern

The bag is simple, uses very little fabric (about 2/3rds of a fat quarter), has no fussy inside pockets (although you can add your own if you like), and takes me well less than 30 minutes to print the pattern, cut out and sew. But quick and simple doesn’t mean it’s not awesome!

It’s the sort of bag that is versatile enough to be used for lots of applications, not just cosmetics and toiletries. Keep all your pens and pencils in order, use it for a small first aid kit for the car, keep it in your desk at work for a few headache pills and other personal supplies.

Make some for yourself, for gifts or to sell.
