Tutorial: DIY mermaid costumes for mom and daughter

Elvi from LoLoVie shows how she made these fabulous mermaid costumes for herself and her daughter. They wore the coordianting costumes in the annual Coney Island Mermaid Parade. The fishy skirts of both are made from sequined tank tops and gathered tulle. The top of her mermaid costume is made with real shells on a bra base, while the top of her daughter’s is a much simpler tank top.
