Narelle from Cook. Clean. Craft. shares a tutorial showing how to make a child’s dress-up tutu out of gathered organza. She chose to sew it together from organza, rather than the more widely used method of knotting strips of tulle around elastic, because she wanted a more durable costume with a fuller skirt, more like the types of tutus that ballerinas wear. Her version is made from two layers of organza gathered on to an elastic casing. Even with the sewing and hemming, she was able to make one in just an hour. Go to her tute to see how to make one.
