Every year, parents around the world have to come up with creative ideas to make their Elf on the Shelf move around the house. But sometimes, these ideas can backfire in hilarious ways.
Take my friend, for example. For one of her elf ideas, she decided to “send” her elf on a hot air balloon ride, complete with a little basket and some helium-filled balloons. But after letting go of the balloon, it didn’t go up – it went straight into the fireplace! So there her elf was, stuck in the chimney with a basket of balloons around it. Needless to say, her kids were very confused when they found it.
It was a funny mishap, but it’s a reminder that not all Elf on the Shelf ideas is created equal. So if you’re looking for some new elf ideas, be sure to do your research first – otherwise, you might end up with a few elf-related disasters of your own!
