The Purl Bee shares a free pattern for making this adorable cat softie.  The kitty softie is made from a mix of felted wool scraps that have been overdyed to match.  The wool felt is a good choice for a softie – it’s sturdy but has a bit of stretch to it that allows for nice shaping.  You could also make him from fleece.
