Freebie: Standard Measurements Chart for drafting garment patterns

November 29, 2013 by Anne Weaver

Freebie: Standard Measurements Chart for drafting garment patternsIf you draft your own patterns – or want to get started drafting your own patterns, Lauren Dahl has a treat for you.  She continues her Lauren Dahl continues her pattern drafting series with a free downloadable chart with standard body measurements.  Her chart gives standard measurements for misses, women plus sizes, infants, young children, girls, boys, and men.  It’s a comprehensive list, giving roughly 30 – 44 measurements (if my counting is correct) which she divides into three categories:  girth, vertical, and width/length.  I’ve already got a copy printed for myself!  Thank you, Lauren!!  Go to Lauren Dahl to download her standard measurements chart.

    Thanks again, Anne!

Easy Cosmetics Bag Sewing Pattern

The bag is simple, uses very little fabric (about 2/3rds of a fat quarter), has no fussy inside pockets (although you can add your own if you like), and takes me well less than 30 minutes to print the pattern, cut out and sew. But quick and simple doesn’t mean it’s not awesome!

It’s the sort of bag that is versatile enough to be used for lots of applications, not just cosmetics and toiletries. Keep all your pens and pencils in order, use it for a small first aid kit for the car, keep it in your desk at work for a few headache pills and other personal supplies.

Make some for yourself, for gifts or to sell.
