Giveaway and specials: Frisky Scissors vintage pattern shop

July 10, 2012 by Anne Weaver

Frisky Scissors is a new Etsy shop specializing in vintage sewing patterns.  (The owner, Catherine Johnson, is my sister!)  To celebrate her opening, she’s got a slew of specials for you.  And, she has a $15 gift certificate giveaway just for Craft Gossip readers.  Check out her specials below, and then go to the giveaway post to get yourself entered to win the gift certificate.

She’s giving 15% off any order from July 9 – July 16, 2012.  Just enter the coupon code GRANDOPENING at checkout.

She’s giving a 50% refund to her first customer.  This applies to the whole order, up to $40 back.

She’s giving a 20% coupon code (good on one order) to anyone who features one of her items in an Etsy treasury or on their blog.

All pattern orders over $50 ship free. (This is a standing special for her shop, not limited to just her grand opening.)

Her shop is conveniently organized by era, with a special section of $5 bargain patterns (all eras).  And to help you find exactly what you want, she has carefully tagged all items so you can easily search by keyword.  You can search by bust size, era, style, brand, or any combination.  For example, you can search by “1940s blouse” or “bust 32”.  You can even get as specific as “Vogue 1950s bust 36 dress.”  Other handy search terms are “easy” to find patterns that are quick or simple to make and “uncut” to find patterns that have never been used.

Because vintage patterns use a different sizing system than newer patterns and ready-to-wear, all listings have a photo of the pattern’s sizing guide.

Go to my giveaway post  and leave a comment there to get yourself entered to win a $15 gift certficate to Frisky Scissors!
