Inspiration: Make a memory bear to honor a loved one

May 16, 2014 by Anne Weaver

Inspiration: Make a memory bear to honor a loved oneSherri from Hidden Treasures, and the Lesson Plans blog here at Craft Gossip, tells about the memory bears she made to honor and remember her husband’s grandmother. Her grandmother-in-law was an avid sewer so it was fitting that a sewing project be made to remember her.  Each bear was made from clothing that she wore.  In all, Sherri made 10 bears to give to family members.  Go to Hidden Treasures to read more.

How much does the bears run and how much fabric do you need?

i do a lot of sewing and i would not mind discussing making these “Memory Bears” if it does not infringe on anyones rights.

Please contact me through my Etsy shop. Little Doe Designs to discuss price and options.

I would love to find someone to make Memory Bears for me. I lost my mom in 2013 and would love to give my children and grandchildren a bear made from her clothing. Please help!

Easy Cosmetics Bag Sewing Pattern

The bag is simple, uses very little fabric (about 2/3rds of a fat quarter), has no fussy inside pockets (although you can add your own if you like), and takes me well less than 30 minutes to print the pattern, cut out and sew. But quick and simple doesn’t mean it’s not awesome!

It’s the sort of bag that is versatile enough to be used for lots of applications, not just cosmetics and toiletries. Keep all your pens and pencils in order, use it for a small first aid kit for the car, keep it in your desk at work for a few headache pills and other personal supplies.

Make some for yourself, for gifts or to sell.
