Justine’s answer to handcrafted holiday guilt

December 22, 2013 by Anne Weaver

Justine's answer to handcrafted holiday guiltChristmas is a stressful time for us crafty types.  We set such high expectations for ourselves.  We cruise blogs and see perfectly decorated homes, and think we need to craft a new mantelscape for our own living room.  And we need to make handmade stockings, and handmade Christmas dresses, and handmade gifts for everyone.  It’s enough to send you over the edge.

That’s why you need to read this post from Justine from Sew Country Chick.  The fact is, none of us can do it all.  She gives us permission to step back from the high expectations and just enjoy the holiday season, even if that means a mass-produced pair of Christmas pajamas.

Thanks so much for the sweet Link Anne. Have a merry Christmas!

Easy Cosmetics Bag Sewing Pattern

The bag is simple, uses very little fabric (about 2/3rds of a fat quarter), has no fussy inside pockets (although you can add your own if you like), and takes me well less than 30 minutes to print the pattern, cut out and sew. But quick and simple doesn’t mean it’s not awesome!

It’s the sort of bag that is versatile enough to be used for lots of applications, not just cosmetics and toiletries. Keep all your pens and pencils in order, use it for a small first aid kit for the car, keep it in your desk at work for a few headache pills and other personal supplies.

Make some for yourself, for gifts or to sell.
