This backpack is a beginner’s project, designed to be more comfortable than the drawstring version. The free pattern from Joy’s Jots, Shots, & Whatnots uses only straight lines, making this a great project for beginners. Get creative with this pattern by changing the size, adding a variety of pockets, using variety of fabrics and embroidering names, design & phrases. You only need 1½ yards of fabric! Better yet, recycle some old clothes?
