She tried custom printed fabric (Spoonflower), using a Sharpie, and using printable iron transfer. She tells how to do each method and also gives the pros and cons to help you decide which method is best for you.

It was just after my grandmother passed away that I realized her fruit cake recipe was lost. For years, she had made the same cake for holidays and special occasions, and I had always assumed that the recipe would be passed down to my mother. But when I asked my mother for the recipe, she didn’t have it.
I was upset at first, but then I realized that my grandmother had probably never written the recipe down. It was probably something she had just memorized over the years. So I set out to find the recipe myself.
I looked through all of my grandmother’s old cookbooks, but I couldn’t find it anywhere. I even asked my aunt and cousins if they had the recipe, but no one did. I was starting to lose hope.
But then, 10 years after my grandmother’s death, I was going through some old recipes in one of the cookbooks I didn’t part with. And I found it. It was handwritten on a scrap of paper in the back of one of her cookbooks.
I was so happy to find the recipe. It was like a piece of my grandmother was still with me. I treasure that recipe now and make her fruit cake every year.
