Lisa from Cucicucicoo shows how she added a removable nametag window pocket to her child’s backpack. She can slide a paper label inside the clear vinyl pocket showing her child’s name. She placed it to cover up an embroidered patch that says, “my doll”, making it more suitable for a little boy to carry to school. And since it was originally her daughter’s backpack – and she didn’t want to give up permanent rights to it – the window pocket is attached with snaps so it can be removed. These are so cute BUT you should NEVER put your child’s name on the back of any item they wear. Predators can read the name and call to your child and the child thinks that since the person knows his or her name, they are friends.
Do we really want strangers to get out kids’ names from their packs? Maybe it would be better to put a cute motif on the front, and hide i d info on the back of the card.
The idea is that the bag can be used at school, day care or other organized children’s activities in which the teachers or other organizing adults require the children’s things to be clearly labeled with names. However if you were worried about strangers seeing the name, it would certainly be a valid option to put the name tag window in a more hidden location!
