Pockets in skirts and pants are kind of a must for me. I do a lot of errand running – man, do I do I lot of errand running! And when I’m out running those errands, I’m likely to misplace my keys if I can’t stash them in a pocket.
Shannon from Little Kids Grow shows how to make in-seam pockets for skirts, pants, and dresses. Like the name suggests, an in-seam pocket is sewn into the side seam of a garment. It’s an easy pocket to add to a pattern, and she shows three variations for adding the pocket piece to the garment piece: all-in-one in-seam pocket, separate in-seam pocket, and extension in-seam pocket.
