Sewing Pattern: Big quilted fabric letters!

July 5, 2009 by Anne Weaver

ragletters

Jessica from Happy Together shows how to make these super cute fabric letters.  She made them for her daughter, who is learning her ABC’s right now.  I’m also thinking this would be big fun for on-the-fly banners to hang on your door or over your mantel.  Find out how to make them!

this is a great site…your letters are wonderful…but please excuse my ignorance and tell me what does ”clip the raw edges” mean? I have never heard the expression ‘clip’
    Kind Regards

If I’m understanding her tutorial correctly, what’s telling you to do is to make little snips all around the outer edge, essentially creating a wide fringe. –Anne

With all the excitement and expectation of Santa’s visit, it can be hard for kids to go to sleep on Christmas Eve.  Melissa from Polka Dot Chair created special pillowcases for her nephews, to be used only on Christmas Eve.  When she gave them to them, she included a little poem explaining that they’re magic pillowcases to help them have sweet dreams.  She’s sharing a free printable of the poem on her blog, plus she links to a tutorial she’s written for making a pillowcase, so you can start the tradition with your own kids.
