Tutorial: Easy fix to a keep your pillow inside its pillowcase

Pillows are an essential part of a comfortable bed, but sometimes they can be a bit of a hassle to keep inside their pillowcases. Whether it’s from constantly fluffing and adjusting, or from a pillow that is just a bit too big for its case, it can be frustrating to have to deal with a pillow that won’t stay put.

It’s a common problem that many people face, but luckily, there’s an easy solution that doesn’t require any sewing skills.

But with this tutorial, you’ll learn an easy fix that will keep your pillow inside its pillowcase with minimal effort. By following the simple steps outlined in this tutorial, you’ll be able to keep your pillow inside its pillowcase without any hassle.

This will not only make your bed look neater and more put together, but it will also prolong the life of your pillow and pillowcase by keeping them in good condition.

Emily from Life Sew Savory shares a quick fix for this issue! It’s super easy and doesn’t even require any sewing! She shows it for a kid’s pillowcase, but this is a good solution for anyone’s pillow.

Before we get to the tutorial here are some facts about pillows that you may not have known!

  • The average person will spend about 26 years of their life sleeping, and a good portion of that time will be spent with their head resting on a pillow. Yikes!
  • Pillows have been used for thousands of years, and the ancient Egyptians are credited with creating the first ones. They were made of stone and were used to keep bugs out of people’s hair while they slept.
  • In Japan, there’s a special pillow called a “makura” that’s filled with buckwheat hulls instead of feathers or foam. It’s believed to help alleviate neck and shoulder pain and is also said to promote a more restful sleep.
  • The world’s largest pillow fight took place in Chicago in 2015 and involved over 6,000 participants. The event was held to raise money for charity.
  • The most expensive pillow in the world is made by Italian company Talamo and costs a whopping $57,000. It’s made of rare fabrics like silk and cashmere and is filled with goose down.
