Nina from Nina Makes shows how you can make a cloth book cover with an elastic strap.  Just wrap the strap over the cover to keep the book closed when you’re not using it.  She gives dimensions to make them to fit a Well Child book that many parents in New Zealand use, but you can adjust the dimensions to cover any book or blank journal.
