Tutorial: How to make fabric yo-yos without a plastic gadget

Before I give you this link, let me tell you that I love my plastic yo-yo maker gadgets.  They’re easy to use and they satisfy my OCD need for uniformity.  But the fact is, you don’t NEED a special gadget to make the little gathered fabric circles.  Folks were making them by hand for years and years before they made the plastic gadgets.  Mollie from Wild Olive shows how to do it.  So if you don’t have one of those plastic yo-yo makers, or if you want to make yo-yos in sizes not offered by the yo-yo makers, her tutorial shows how easy it is to do with just scissors and needle and thread.  You can use your finished yo-yos to embellish hair accessories, brooches, quilts, and more.
