My mother always made sure that we had beautiful handmade dresses to wear. She would take us to pick out our own fabrics and then sew them herself. They were always so special to us and we loved them so much. As we got older, she would continue to make our dresses for special occasions. Even though we are all grown up now, she still makes us dresses whenever we need them. It’s such a special tradition that we have between us and I cherish it more than anything.
I just completed my first Junebug Dress! It is so cute! The only trouble I had was with the hem. I think because I cut the sides on a slant for the A-line, that when I went to do the wide hem there was too much material to lie flat as I was sewing. I think next time I will start the A-line a couple inches up from the bottom. Or maybe I just can’t sew a hem! LOL 🙂
