History Mom shows how she created this fabulous lace-up bodice for a Renaissance costume out of a thrifted velvet jacket. Brilliant!! Velvet can be such a difficult fabric to work with, but starting from a jacket with most of the seams already sewn means all you have to do is hem the edges and add some grommets. She paired it with a thrifted taffeta skirt for a completely upcycled Renaissance costume. Go to the tutorial.
