Tutorial: Lounge-y pajama pants from vintage sheets

October 31, 2010 by Anne Weaver

Tamara from Ducky House shares a tutorial at The Vintage Sheet Blog showing how to turn an old sheet into a pair of lounge-y Don’t Get Out Of Bed pajama pants.  The old fabric in the vintage sheet is usually super soft from repeated washings over the years.  AND because the edge is already finished, you don’t have to hem the legs.  Get the how-to.

Vintage sheets are very popular for re-styling or recycling of fabric and a great way to use these fun and bold prints rather than just storing grannies old bedsheets in the cupboard.  You can see more articles using vintage sheets here.   Don’t have any vintage bed sheets of your own? Check these out on Etsy.

I’ve used this tutorial before and everything worked out great. I thought you should also know that the original photos are from the duckyhouse blog not the vintage sheets blog, your photo credit is a little misleading.

Easy Cosmetics Bag Sewing Pattern

The bag is simple, uses very little fabric (about 2/3rds of a fat quarter), has no fussy inside pockets (although you can add your own if you like), and takes me well less than 30 minutes to print the pattern, cut out and sew. But quick and simple doesn’t mean it’s not awesome!

It’s the sort of bag that is versatile enough to be used for lots of applications, not just cosmetics and toiletries. Keep all your pens and pencils in order, use it for a small first aid kit for the car, keep it in your desk at work for a few headache pills and other personal supplies.

Make some for yourself, for gifts or to sell.
