Stephanie from Swoodson Says shows how to adapt a basic onesie pattern to make it a “body double” style onesie. The body double style is essentially a t-shirt top with a onesie bottom. The onesie bottom is layered up under the top so the hem of the top hangs free. It gives the look of a t-shirt but with the stay-put feature of a onesie. Her tutorials uses the Lullaby Line Bodysuit and Lap Tee pattern, but this will work with any basic onesie patern. Go to Swoodson Says to see how to make one.

Sewing your own baby clothes is very satisfying. It’s one of the precious times when we as parents get to choose what our children wear without complaint. Dressing your baby in unique handmade clothing makes for wonderful photos and keepsakes too. As children get older they can select their own fabrics and become part of the sewing process.
