Tutorial: Perfect Maxi Skirt

August 15, 2014 by Anne Weaver

Tutorial: Perfect Maxi Skirt

Tutorial: Perfect Maxi Skirt

Deby from So Sew Easy shares a tutorial showing how you can make her Perfect Maxi Skirt.  What makes it perfect?  Well, it fits snug through the waist, skims your hips, and flares out just enough to allow you to walk with a normal full stride.  A fold over waistband is comfortable to wear and also allows you to adjust the length for flats or heels.  It’s quick to sew, too.  Follow the link below to go to her blog for the tutorial:

True story – I love maxis. Waaaaay back in the early 70’s was wearing one upon my return home from watching basketball at the YMCA. We had a fun referee who was very outrageous in his body language. I was demonstrating on particular move that involved a high kick. I kicked, the skirt caught, I flipped almost a full 360 landing on my butt instead of my feet.

    Yeah, I love Maxis!

Easy Cosmetics Bag Sewing Pattern

The bag is simple, uses very little fabric (about 2/3rds of a fat quarter), has no fussy inside pockets (although you can add your own if you like), and takes me well less than 30 minutes to print the pattern, cut out and sew. But quick and simple doesn’t mean it’s not awesome!

It’s the sort of bag that is versatile enough to be used for lots of applications, not just cosmetics and toiletries. Keep all your pens and pencils in order, use it for a small first aid kit for the car, keep it in your desk at work for a few headache pills and other personal supplies.

Make some for yourself, for gifts or to sell.
