Tutorial: Sewing scout badges on to a uniform

August 30, 2013 by Anne Weaver

How to Sew on a Patch If you have a child in a scouting program, sooner or later you’ll be faced with a stack of badges that need to be sewn down to the uniform.  Many of them are now made to iron down, but that doesn’t mean they iron down easily or stay put.  KC over at The Real Thing With The Coake Family shows how she figured out how to sew them  down by machine without her stitches showing and without changing thread colors a million times.  Go to The Real Thing With The Coake Family to see how to do it.

Thank you so much for featuring my tutorial! I appreciate your kindness as well as letting me know.
    Take care,

Easy Cosmetics Bag Sewing Pattern

The bag is simple, uses very little fabric (about 2/3rds of a fat quarter), has no fussy inside pockets (although you can add your own if you like), and takes me well less than 30 minutes to print the pattern, cut out and sew. But quick and simple doesn’t mean it’s not awesome!

It’s the sort of bag that is versatile enough to be used for lots of applications, not just cosmetics and toiletries. Keep all your pens and pencils in order, use it for a small first aid kit for the car, keep it in your desk at work for a few headache pills and other personal supplies.

Make some for yourself, for gifts or to sell.
