Tutorial: Slim messenger bag, padded to hold a laptop or tablet

slimmessengerThis slim messenger bag would be great back-t0-school for older kids.  Sew4Home share a tutorial showing how to make it.  Even though it is narrower than most messenger bags, it’s still big enough to hold a small laptop, eReader, or tablet.  Foam padding between the outer and the lining gives it shaping and also protects your electronics from small bumps.  Finished dimensions are 12″ high x 10″ wide x 2½” deep. Easy Cosmetics Bag Sewing Pattern

The bag is simple, uses very little fabric (about 2/3rds of a fat quarter), has no fussy inside pockets (although you can add your own if you like), and takes me well less than 30 minutes to print the pattern, cut out and sew. But quick and simple doesn’t mean it’s not awesome!
