Tutorial: Vintage sheet flower pillow

May 11, 2014 by Anne Weaver

Tutorial: Vintage sheet flower pillowLinda from Burlap and Blue shows how pretty a flower can be when made up out of vintage sheets.  The oversized dimensional flower is sewn to the front of a pillow cover.  She shares a tutorial showing how to make it.  The vintage sheets and natural dropcloth create a lovely vintage-y look.  This would also be pretty out of solids or designer cotton prints.  Go to Burlap & Blue for the how-to.

Vintage sheets are very popular for re-styling or recycling of fabric and a great way to use these fun and bold prints rather than just storing grannies old bedsheets in the cupboard.  You can see more articles using vintage sheets here.   Don’t have any vintage bed sheets of your own? Check these out on Etsy.

Your link goes to a ruffled scarf. I found the Burlap and Blue website but not this project. I would like to make this pillow. Could you give me the correct link?
    Thanks

Sorry for that! A copy and paste error on my part. I’ve corrected the post to have the correct link. Thank you for letting me know so I could fix it. –Anne

Easy Cosmetics Bag Sewing Pattern

The bag is simple, uses very little fabric (about 2/3rds of a fat quarter), has no fussy inside pockets (although you can add your own if you like), and takes me well less than 30 minutes to print the pattern, cut out and sew. But quick and simple doesn’t mean it’s not awesome!

It’s the sort of bag that is versatile enough to be used for lots of applications, not just cosmetics and toiletries. Keep all your pens and pencils in order, use it for a small first aid kit for the car, keep it in your desk at work for a few headache pills and other personal supplies.

Make some for yourself, for gifts or to sell.
