Tutorial: How to make fabric yo yos, plus a templateAmy from Positively Splendid shows how to make fabric yo yo you can use to make little fabric flowers or cute hair accessories.  You can buy plastic yo yo makers at the fabric store, but they’re not necessary. All you need is a circle of fabric a little more than twice the diameter of the finished size of the yo yo.  She includes a free template to cut the circles that will make 1″, 1.5″, 2″ and 3″ yo yos.  Go to her blog to get the templates and the tutorial.

    Hi,

Once you make the yo yo’s do you have some suggestions as to what you can do with them?

I’m thinking of a blanket with yo yo’s tacked together onto a quilt to make a fun throw for a bed or couch.

    Any other suggestions?

They make cute brooches, also look darling on a scrapbook page or card.
