Tutorial: Baby bubble playsuit sew-along

February 3, 2011 by Anne Weaver

Citra from Innocentia starts a sew-along showing how to create the bubble playsuit from Fiona Bell’s Sewn With Love.   This little playsuit is one of my favorite projects in the book, and I don’t have a little baby to sew for anymore!  But the look is so classic, so vintage – how could you not love it?

Her first post in the series shows how to print and assemble the paper pattern that comes in the book.  Go to the first post in her sew-along.

I’ve got a copy of that book on my table right now – look for a review & giveaway in the next few days.

These play suits are so cute. Thanks for sharing this!

Easy Cosmetics Bag Sewing Pattern

The bag is simple, uses very little fabric (about 2/3rds of a fat quarter), has no fussy inside pockets (although you can add your own if you like), and takes me well less than 30 minutes to print the pattern, cut out and sew. But quick and simple doesn’t mean it’s not awesome!

It’s the sort of bag that is versatile enough to be used for lots of applications, not just cosmetics and toiletries. Keep all your pens and pencils in order, use it for a small first aid kit for the car, keep it in your desk at work for a few headache pills and other personal supplies.

Make some for yourself, for gifts or to sell.
