Tutorial: Turn your tiniest fabric scraps into an artistic new fabric

fabricfromscrapsSimi from Buttons and Paint shows how she used the tiniest of fabric scraps – the ones that normally there’s nothing that can be done with them – to create a new piece of fabric.  She cut them up and stitched them down to another piece of fabric.  It’s artistic and colorful and textural. Of course, you could do this with more muted tones, too.  And what would you make with the new piece of fabric?  She’s thinking her piece might become a journal cover. Easy Cosmetics Bag Sewing Pattern

The bag is simple, uses very little fabric (about 2/3rds of a fat quarter), has no fussy inside pockets (although you can add your own if you like), and takes me well less than 30 minutes to print the pattern, cut out and sew. But quick and simple doesn’t mean it’s not awesome!
