Tutorial: Vintage sheet pajama set

Tutorial: Vintage sheet pajama set

Melissa from Blank Slate Patterns and Melly Sews shares a couple of tutorials showing how you can make a simple pajama set from vintage sheets. The top is a pillowcase style top, and she shows how to make it to your measurements.  The shorts are gathered waist shorts with a cute scallop detail at the side.  She has a free pattern to make them, which fits a women’s size Small.  (You can get her pattern for free by subscribing to her email list, but you can also just purchase it from her shop.)  If you need another size, you could easily adapt a basic elastic waist shorts pattern to add the scallop detail she shows.

Vintage sheets are very popular for re-styling or recycling of fabric and a great way to use these fun and bold prints rather than just storing grannies old bedsheets in the cupboard.  You can see more articles using vintage sheets here.   Don’t have any vintage bed sheets of your own? Check these out on Etsy.
